being so different than, say, an average Australian, German, etc. But then again, we all have different experiences with people.
Maybe I'm a bit biased and optimistic due to me having friends, family, and colleagues living in countries with fairly successful single payer systems (Netherlands (work), UK (family), France (family), Germany (mission), and Australia (friends). None of the people I know living in these countries would trade healthcare systems with us.
But you may be right, Americans might abuse the system at a far higher rate than others. Even then, if it allows a substantial number of honest people to live a more humane existence, I would be for that. Of course, everyone's tolerance for this is going to be different.
