I know this is the quickest way to get ran out of Cougarboard, but I’m legit worried for Zach.

Granted, most of my worry revolves around things Zach can’t control. Namely, the New York Jets. The list of talented players the Jets have managed to ruin is a mile long and as of right now, he’s going to be surrounded by minimal talent. If the new Coaching Staff and Front Office manage to turn that franchise around, it will be the exception, not the rule.

And while I do think that Zach made a huge leap this past season, I do hate to admit that Zach’s performances against quality opponents during his career at BYU leave me with cause for concern.

Cowherd is a dope to be sure, but while watching that video, I struggled to see anything he said that was inaccurate or slanderous. In all honesty, if he wasn’t making those comments about a BYU QB, I don’t think any of us would have a problem with his take.

Here’s to hoping Zach can prove his doubters wrong. In the meantime, I’m going to focus all my energy on hoping the Jets fall in love with Trey Lance so Zach can get a legit shot with a legit NFL franchise.
