The scariest was while hunting during elk season one October. My son and I were sitting about 30 ft apart on the edge of a meadow at dusk and we heard branches snapping nearby. We assumed elk were close by. The noise got closer and closer, but we couldn't see anything as it was coming out of the dark timber behind us. Suddenly a huge bull moose appeared behind us and walked right between us passing about 10-15 feet in front of me.
Running away wasn't even an option--I was too scared to move.
