removing the ability of the states to regulate C19 responses is so tone-deaf it's staggering. The thing that bothers me the most is that Merkel and company spent months basking in worldwide adoration for locking down everything that moved; now it is clear that they spent absolutely no time on preparing to rollout vaccinations. It's really criminal.
My wife's hairdresser (in her mid-30's) was told not to expect to be fully vaccinated until next spring, and teachers who managed to get the vaccine over the past few weeks were told they can't have their second dose until July-ish at the soonest. Somebody shared the minutes of one of the marathon "Corona Cabinet" meetings from a month or so ago with me. It went for about 12 hours, and there wasn't more than about a half-hour of discussion on vaccinations. In reality the Germans are not efficient, just predictable - and one could see this charlie foxtrot coming from a mile away at the end of 2020, but unfortunately too many people were in love with Angela's response. Ugh.
Hoping the French open up so that I can get the yewt outta here for a few days. It ain't a happy place.
