The one thing I learned about the Bronco years is this: if you get pushed around in the trenches, you lose games.
The returning Oline experience is pretty good. Yes we lost a lot of production (Christensen, Hoge, Herring) but we have talented stars: Barrington, Empey, & Freeland. These three are going to be NFL picks in the future. Add that to Salapaga, Pay, LaChance and Tukuafu who are serviceable and have valuable game experience and you have a good Oline. There is also Unatoa who has experience with the Utes but no playing time with BYU yet. He hopefully brings some depth too.
Campbell Barrington (Clark's little brother) is supposed to be much better than his brother. Also, Migao looks like a terror but needs to add experience.
The glaring problem is depth. Let us pray the starting 5 stay healthy, but if they don't, we have guys with experience in the 2-deep.
It all starts up front with the Hogs. Bronco and his pathetic Olines taught me that (hence why we can't beat Utah) I'm optimistic about next year, with a good Oline opening up holes for TA and Katoa. Yes, I know the schedule is much tougher but we have a good shot against most, if not all the teams on the schedule.
Go Cougs!!!
