the biggest problems with inflation are
(1) It destroys the purchasing power of seniors living on a fixed income and/or returns on a primarily fixed-income retirement portfolio
(2) It creates 'money illusion' that distorts the relative returns of various assets. Money illusion can cause society to overinvest in things like housing stock and underinvest in things like computers and factories.
