For people who sympathize with her, I would point to season one, episode one. In this episode, the following happens:

- Skyler decides to give Walt vegetarian bacon on his 50th birthday because he needs to watch his cholesterol.

- Skyler then gets into multiple arguments with her disabled son over petty issues.

- Skyler tells her obnoxious sister that she wants to write more short stories. Apparently, this is her profession. She spends time writing short stories that won’t make any money.

- For Walt’s birthday, Skyler decides to provide him with a sexual favor. This is an incredibly cringe worthy seen as she continues to work on her laptop and stare straight forward while attending to Walt. There is zero love or affection and she gets excited about something on her screen and ruins the moment right before completion. Happy birthday Walt.

She’s always my answer to anyone who thinks that this is the best show ever. I literally hate every single scene she is in and she is in lots of scenes. She is part of the reason that Walt decides to go down the dark road he does. His life has very little joy. She seems like a terrible wife.

And some people will point out that she is a sympathetic character because of what she’s going through. But she is awful before she’s going through anything.
