also some kind of insects that can eat and kill your lawn at its roots? The past few years I've had the greenest lawn on the street, really great (humate each month, fertilizer quarterly, and perhaps a little extra watering). This year, however, I just didn't take care of it since I was distracted with my sister's cancer. I missed fertilizing it a couple times and then April got hot and plus it's been super dry, very little moisture, so I'm not sure if it's just that or if it's something worse. I did have it aerated in March. The back seems to be coming around slowly (put fertilizer and humate on 10 days ago) but the front is going much more slowly. Below is a picture of my front lawn, and the worst spot in the lawn. You can see how in the middle it's even drier than the edges, where it's a little more yellow and has a little more moisture. This is also the one section of lawn that's always needed extra love and care for some reason over the last few years.
