It is a few days late, but it sure didn’t take long for the New York media to go after Wilson, with a personal hit piece on his mom. They tried comparing her to LaVar Ball, the epitome of sport parents who take advantage of their children’s fame. It is an unfair comparison and the first real test of how he will react to future stories, that will undoubtedly be used to get readers and start controversy.
Mrs Wilson was definitely well covered by the television cameras, both locally and nationally. She is an attractive woman who is not afraid to share her opinions, many if which I don’t necessarily share, but I never felt she was seeking out attention for her personal gain. I always felt like she and her husband knew from their experience, what Zach would be facing as a great athlete and future pro. She was protective but never seemed to be like Ball, who literally does everything he can to use his sons to make his own personal fortune and celebrity. She handled The switch from Utah to being a BYU fan with class, and seemed to genuinely have support from both fanbases. Am I missing something?
