It’s not uncommon for kids that age to constantly forget

Talk with her, but not in a lecturing way. Express “why” without just laying down the rules. Make the relationship strong and she will not want to disappoint you.

Taking the phone is easy, but also wipes out their primary platform for social interaction with peers, which is their world at that age. Such things can drive a wedge and risk seeing worse behaviors later. Remember communication and the relationship are the keys.
