It really does come down to how you define intelligence. To me the most meaningful definition of intelligence is the
ability to solve real life problems.

The mechanic with a high school diploma could, by this measure, be much more intelligent than the phd who looks down on them.

I think IQ tests do an okay job of measuring this but they also require some degree of education as well to score highly on them.

I feel like a LOT of people discount IQ tests and score low on them but then say they have emotional intelligence and street smarts. In my experience most of these same people are just making excuses and aren’t great at problem solving
