Every time I am asked this question, and I often am, I refer the asker to D&C 93:36-37. To wit:
"The glory of God is intelligence, or, in other words, light and truth.
Light and truth forsake that evil one."
Now from this we deduce that the level of forsaking the evil one, which we will call FEO, is directly proportional to actual intelligence, or light and truth, i.e. LT.
The formula for true God-given intelligence, therefore, is I = (FEO/x)(LT) where x is the number of sins committed by a given individual in a calendar year. Since every sin separates man from God, it does not matter the level of sin, so even so much as an angry glance at a coworker would count.
