I think that we are going to do the hams and mostly summer and Italian sausage
cornellcoug
6/9/21 5:43pm
Woh, does it usually take a big group of hounds like that?

6/9/21 5:35pm
It is a super cool process that they do and they are always training new dogs

Poor bear
BIG XII Coug

My thoughts as well. I don't get it.

In nature death is never pretty. It could easily be argued these bears had a more humane death than their cohorts

Its ok. Bears, like dogs, are unaware of their own existence and dont even

What about deer? They keep eating my garden and I’ve about had it
A Drew Aitch
6/9/21 6:00pm
Same. Little robots. Driven by instinct. Also like dogs.

I don’t think anyone knows what animal consciousness is like. We don’t even
Jstak17
6/9/21 6:14pm
What about plants... they have a consciousness... we just don’t know how to
kotacoug

You’re making the assumption that I believe hunting is wrong because animal
Jstak17

Not a poor bear if you don't hunt them they will overpopulate, starve or succumb
BYU Grounds
6/10/21 5:18pm
Having a huge pack of hounds doesn’t sound like a hunt to me. Real sportsmen.
Jstak17
6/9/21 6:06pm
What, so you’re saying dogs can’t hunt? That’s mean
A Drew Aitch
6/9/21 6:12pm
I guess it’s a hunt for the dogs. Not the people. Any one that walks can follow
Jstak17
6/9/21 6:18pm
This is unequivocally not true. The second bear taken was 1.5 miles away
cornellcoug
6/9/21 9:15pm
What's your preference? Language warning. Nature is brutal.
fldnstrm
6/9/21 6:14pm
Yeah, sending a huge pack of dogs on a bear isn’t natural. They are trained to
Jstak17
6/9/21 6:20pm
Packs of wolves would disagree.
fldnstrm
6/9/21 6:24pm
Read my whole post lol.
Jstak17
6/9/21 6:25pm
The pack of dogs has natural ability to track and tree animals training aside.
fldnstrm
6/9/21 6:28pm
Would dogs hunt a bear in nature? Seems like they would go after an easier
Jstak17
6/9/21 6:41pm
So it is about fairness. Gotcha.
fldnstrm
6/9/21 6:46pm
In a recreational hunt yes. Don’t we always want fairness? However, in this case
Jstak17
6/11/21 1:17pm
Yep nothing natural about man using tools to hunt.....
kotacoug
6/9/21 6:24pm
Umm, no. It’s really pretty simple. And I’m not taking some treehugger line.
Jstak17
6/9/21 6:32pm
Lol.... seriously you think hunts are suppose to be fair? Haha
kotacoug
6/9/21 6:40pm
Maybe at least a chance for the animal to escape? Do you fish with Dynamite?
Jstak17
6/9/21 6:43pm
We have been using dogs to hunt for centuries
kotacoug
6/9/21 6:46pm
Is it fun? I’ve read Where the red fern grows. That seemed more of a challenge
Jstak17
6/9/21 6:50pm
Subsistance hunting and trophy hunting are very different

Unless your vegetarian your argument rings hollow.

I’m eating the meat. In fact on Saturday I am processing all of it.
cornellcoug

You kinda lost me at "fair".
Eddie
6/9/21 6:48pm
So, I think you need to draw the line somewhere. I have no problem with bird

I’ve taken many more animals with archery than I have with hounds
cornellcoug
6/9/21 9:04pm
Absolutely, this isn’t a personal attack. Just doesn’t seem much of a challenge
Jstak17
6/9/21 11:01pm
I can understand drawing the line somewhere.
Eddie
6/10/21 8:20am
I’ve been kind of surprised by the reaction quite honestly. Granted, it was
Jstak17

The reaction stems from the second sentence of this post. It just comes off derisive.

That's the beauty of CB. You don't have to get offended.
Eddie
6/11/21 9:15am
I came at you with the “real sportsman” bash. Glad you didn’t take offense.
