The no-auto bids (after Conference champions) is big considering the current state of NY6 Bowls.

Think of what a mess it was as we were evaluating BYU’s prospects into getting into the NY6 remembering “Well BYU needs to be generally Top 12, but Top 11 if an ACC team needs to make the Orange Bowl, or Top 10 if the highest PAC team for the Rose Bowl is ranked worse than BYU.”
