Hence the use of the phrase, "the eventual champion is ALMOST always going to come from the top 8"
By definition, an upset is statistically unlikely. But unless your team is getting upset, they are a lot of fun. This proposed format opens the door to upsets, while it still provides, in most years, for the best teams to get in and win.
