Only chance for BYU getting in as an independent would be with 10+ P5’s
on the schedule and going 12-0. 11-1 with that schedule might get us in if there’s a bunch of 3/4 loss teams.
We saw this year how the committee sees BYU. 3 loss North Carolina, 3 loss Iowa State, and 3 loss Florida all finished higher than BYU even after the bowl blow out of UCF. Granted our schedule sucked, but I don’t think playing 5 P5’s and a bunch of G5’s will change anything in their thick skulls.
