The dumbest argument I see on the internet is that a 12 team playoff kills the
importance of the regular season.

The regular season was already pretty much meaningless for 95% of college football. This opens up a more meaningful regular season for so many more teams and raises the stakes big time for conference championships.

It’s not like teams will be able to mail in games and still make the playoff. Every game will still be huge for playoff positioning, rankings, conference title races, etc.

I really really hope that this proposal gets adopted because it would possibly the best thing to happen to CFB in a really long time IMO.
