I don't think you have a firm grasp of reality when it comes to college football.

First off, you're asking BYU to contend for an At-Large spot... that alone puts our fate in a committees hands in terms of how they see us and where they rank us. there is a considerable amount of bias involved here... it's always been evident, but last season BYU being ranked 14th in the first college football poll and the committee saying that they just didn't think BYU was as good as their record indicates... that's exactly what you are getting if you're goal is an Atlarge playoff spot.

Second... our Strength of Schedule will always been anything between 60 and 80. In 2019 we had a 1 loss Utah team, USC, Washington, Tennessee, Boise St, USU, 3 loss SDSU team... and then a few crap teams and our schedule was ranked 65th at best, other sites has our schedule at 69. That's just more fodder for the committee to say that BYU's success is the product of the schedule. An AAC Schedule is only slightly worse than BYU's ranked, UCF's that season was ranked 82. 13 spots worse, and I believe they had a P5 game cancel on them which would have increased their schedule strength had they played.

If BYU wants a shot at the NC... BYU has to join the AAC... period. Win the conference, be the best G5 conference championship... and then get the auto bid where little to no committee bias is as play.
