This current version of Indy is just purgatory. There aren't enough P5's on the
schedule to garner P5 respect. And the team hasn't been good enough to win enough against these less-than-P5 schedules.
That gets the program nowhere.
Go ahead, feel good about playing some high-profile teams, and even beating a few. But it has had no big payoff for the program.
BYU has had success with undefeated, or close to it, records against G5 competition. The only great season during independence was last year, when the P5 schools bailed and the team bullied smaller programs. Except for the Chanticleers.
How long are you willing to wait for success against P5-lite schedules in independence to pay off?
