Look, I apologized to him. I’ve looked into it, and yes it’s much more of a
legitimate hunt than I first thought. It was an off the cuff comment from my understanding of hound hunting. Fortunately he has a legion of posters here to defend him. I am happy to revise my opinion as I learn.
It still doesn’t seem very sportsmanlike to me. The optics aren’t good. For me and plenty of others (apparently I’m the only one on cougarboard). But, it helps with conservation, and some people must really enjoy it. It’s also much more of a challenge than I originally thought.
I’ve been open to having a good faith discussion here. I enjoy having a debate with people who disagree with me. It’s much more entertaining than an echo chamber right?

In nature death is never pretty. It could easily be argued these bears had a more humane death than their cohorts
