I keep hearing only two options discussed with joining AAC. 1) football only or 2) all sports. Is there a rule I am not aware of that says these are the only options? Why are we not hearing about a revenue sports (football & men's basketball) only option? I would then put non-revenue sports in some west coast based conference (something like the WAC or BigSky).

I would assume the biggest hurdle would be getting the other conference to accept, but there are ways to incentivize it. You could offer media coverage on BYUTV. You could offer to sign a scheduling agreement (BYU, SDSU, & BSU could each agree to play one football game and two basketball games a year with the conference). I just think you could get creative.

Is there a reason the WAC or Big Sky wouldn't do this? Is there a reason BYU wouldn't be willing? What am I missing?
