recruiting is the best it's been since the 90's, I don't see how that supports your argument.

The NFL players from last year show that recruiting surely hasn't fallen off a cliff in recent years. Maybe your argument is that it initially fell off a cliff, but has gotten better? It's BYU's most players in a draft since 2002, which exclusively included players recruited in the 90's.

Bronco's recruiting was honestly pretty much the same through his entire tenure - solid at the top and terrible at the bottom while Kalani's have been similar at the top and much better at the bottom. In addition, Kalani is much better at bringing guys in at each position group year after year. The biggest difference by far in recruiting over the last 20 years is Bronco vs. Kalani, not independence vs. MWC. When I get some time, I'll do some side to side comparisons of rosters to illustrate the differences.

I also love that you just ignore all of those wins I mentioned. BYU's recruiting was never that good to begin with, so if it dropped of a cliff with independence they would be lucky to be .500 every year and have basically zero signature wins. By all means though, go ahead and keep touting crappy team recruiting rankings despite their major flaws.

I'm shocked there are people who actually believe that BYU was able to recruit better in the MWC than in independence. I haven't even argued that independence made recruiting better, just that it didn't make recruiting worse. My argument is that it is currently better than it has been for twenty years or so.
