I don’t really care. I love my team, but it is now clear that even when we are good enough we aren’t treated fair. Too much prejudice. It is on full display when by every metric BYU belongs in a power conference and get passed over. You see it when you have the future #2 pick in the NFL draft and are ranked high enough in all the polls for CFP contention or at least an NY6 and then Reese Davis and Herbstreit are asking the committee what just happened to BYU.
When we lost to Coastal Carolina, it didn’t really matter. Had we won, we would have still been on the outside of a NY6 bowl.
Watching all of that play out last year I realized because of religious prejudice we are in the situation we are in and that won’t be changing any time soon. Joining a conference may give us a better path to a NY6 or spot to a 12 team CFP, but I won’t hold my breath ever again if the fate of BYU is decided with a committee with university presidents or athletic directors.
