I'm just glad this board is semi-anonymous...
I've got an appointment with an ENT tomorrow morning early, but last week had a sudden onset of dysphagia and thought I'd see if anyone here had any constructive ideas. I'd been previously prescribed omeprazole but had unilaterally reduced my intake over time from 40mg daily to 10mg every other day since my symptoms (swollen feeling in my throat) seemed under control. But they came roaring back early last week: my throat became fairly significantly constricted (much worse than previously) over the course of 24-48 hours and hasn't relented. I'm assuming it's diet-based but don't know.
Anyway, I'm just looking for ideas. I'm partial to eating on a regular basis and can't swallow much without lots of coughing and things feeling like they're going down the wrong pipe. Some stuff just won't pass, and even liquids don't feel like they're passing all that well. Again I'm seeing someone tomorrow, but more ideas can help. My dad also died of stomach / esophageal cancer accompanied by GERD, so I have reason for additional concern.
