Just curious - are these friends LDS? I'm fascinated and a little baffled
by the two opposing philosophies I seem to see in members of the church - self reliance and financial prudence vs YOLO, flash the cash and buy big fancy houses with all the toys. I'm really not sure which is more widespread, and if people in the latter group tell themselves they're in the former group or tell themselves they're just doing what everyone else is doing.
