for time, just simply completion. While I agree that is incredibly impressive just by itself, IM claimed he wasn't doing the same as the events because there was no time limit (sometimes he was taking hour long breaks between legs, and he wouldn't have officially finished the race in the cut off time) and due to his outside synthetic help (testosterone and IV treatments would get him DQ'd from Ironman and other sanctioned events).

A lot of pro's are not fans of his either for the above reasons
