Fort Worth's downtown, around the square, is pretty cool though I haven't spent much time there since COVID did its thing to society.
Risky's is a decent steakhouse in Fort Worth and at the Stockyards.
Las Colinas is an area with so much potential around its little lakes and a European village vibe at its heart... but overall is still kind of lacking the life and activity that could be there. A few decent restaurants around. Fortunately it is pretty central and it isn't far to some great places. Roanoke has some good restaurants and is a cool little town. Twisted Root for a burger is a worthwhile stop.
You aren't far from Deep Ellum in Dallas, solid restaurant community. Pecan Lodge is near Las Colinas and is fantastic, expect a line though. Cattle-ack isn't too far, I haven't had the pleasure but other CBers swear by it. There is a Torchy's Tacos in Las Colinas and that is definitely worth having on your lunch list while in town. Great menu to choose from. I usually get two, one of which will always be a Trailer Park, Trashy. I mix up what I get for the second taco. Really good queso as well.
Normally I'd recommend the Fort Worth zoo if you've got family with you but there is some construction going on that takes a bit of the shine off.
