sometimes if I’m driving by my wife’s work I will stop in at circle k and grab her a polar pop. She loves them. Today I noticed the ice was not working in one machine and had a caution tape just around the ice dispenser opening . So I filled up two cups in the machine next to it and then proceeded to go back to the machine with the Diet Coke and DP to make my wife’s drink she likes. I usually go with diet dew or Diet Coke if I get one and thankfully I went with Diet Coke and as I just topped mine off I sipped it before putting the lid on and it was flat and terrible. Tasted hers and the same. So I mention it to the lady behind the counter hey your soda is all flat. she then with a straight face says yeah that’s because the ice is not working, that makes the pop flat. She then adds well that’s why you should always taste it first before you fill two cups full.

I’m no chemist but I do follow the science experts on CB, but since when did ice in a soda machine keep fountain drinks from going flat? And second if you really believe this and have no plans to change the tank until the ice machine is fixed, why wouldn’t you tape the entire machine off instead? Two other people were doing the exact thing I was and we all just laughed and dumped our drinks out and drove down a half mile to the QT instead.
