Brings but I don’t think he is “the” alpha of the team. I think he will be a natural leader and alpha due to his experience and physical/mental skills and makeup.
But Barcello is the spiritual and actual leader of this team. That is not a knock on TeJ or anyone else that leads out but Barcello has more than paid his dues with this team. Pope talks a lot about Alex’ belief system and sheer will to go where no BYU team has gone before.
That is not a guarantee that the team gets there but it is a driving force in getting everyone on the team thinking that way, practicing that way and, hopefully playing that way.
I do think Alex and TeJ will bond and jointly lead this team. I hope we can get one more athletic big who can defend and run the floor.
