could still comeback and win the series. On the other hand if we lose with key players being injured makes evaluation of a team so difficult, because the truth is we don't know how this series would've been different with Conley and a healthy DM. We assume we would've played better, but who knows maybe we run this team back next year and there are the same struggles on defense where teams spread out on the perimeter and neutralize Gobert (to a degree). I mean, Gobert hasn't been impactful to the status of DPOY in this series. (Not saying he is the issue either). In a way it feels like we are limited in the style of basketball we can play, and I think that really hurts in the playoffs as teams make adjustments.
One thing I will say is that I think the Jazz are legitimate contenders this year, no matter the end result of their playoff run. Normally that's all you can ask for and hope for a little luck (injury-wise).
