2nd place PAC 12, big 12, ACC (even add G5 to the list) could easily get in over a 11-1 BYU team and then SEC #2 and #3 push BYU out. G5 conference champions not getting the auto could hold a lot of weight. Even a 3rd place Utah/SC/ASSu/Furd/Baylor/VU at 10-2 beating BYU could easily be justified, still having 6-7 P5 wins (more P5 wins and HtH) and two wins over G5s and a WSU type team. Assuming BYU goes 11-1 beating five P5 teams and then six G5 (and less) teams is going to be better than a P5 team beating 5-7 other P5 teams and a G5 or two? A good P5 loss could easily be looked at better than wins over BSU (who said they are P5 quality these days), USF (P5 quality?), USU (P5 quality?), ID ST (P5 quality?), and GA SO (P5 quality?). BSU, USU, and USF all have to have extremely good seasons to be looked at the same level a solid P5 loss, how likely is that to happen?
That's the thing, this years schedule is a big deal to BYU fans but it's less than most other P5 team's schedule, a 3 loss P5 team could have the same number of P5 wins and a tougher SOS.

That's how you justify it, not to mention, put in another G5 Champion and who is going to scream foul play other than BYU fans if two G5s get in? Who is fight for Indy teams?
