BYU has finished the season in the AP top 12 six times in their history
1980, 1983, 1984, 1996, 2009 & 2020.
BYU has won 23 conference championships. BYU may not have been one of the top 6 conference champions each year but they would have been in the conversation until the final week of the season most of those years. To me those sound like exciting football seasons with a whole lot to play for and reasons to be invested.
