My CFB Bowl Teams Match Up Solution....
I like watching bowl games. But I’d also REALLY prefer the idea of having bowls being “contract-less” and not tied to conferences. But what could be the process for bowls selecting teams????

The NCAA should design a bowl-teams selection process with the picking order being based on the amount of money willing to pay each of the invited teams. The bowls willing to give the MOST money per team gets to pick their teams first and so on. The bowl having the least amount of money to give teams would be last.

With this selection process, the higher paying bowls get to determine the desired matchups first. Each bowl would also likely consider the number of fans who might travel to their bowl - which could generate more $$. Universities that have fans who travel well might get prioritized!?!?

Then Universities would have a specified amount of time to accept or reject the bowl invitation. I’d guess most would accept and want the money and experience for their players. This might also keep teams competing and trying to win games to try to be an attractive invitation.
I’d also assume we’d get the best matchups with this type of selection process.
Would this eliminate some players from pulling out to prepare for the nfl draft and/or declaring for the draft early - nope.

Any thoughts about this process??

Likelihood it would ever happen this way - slim to none...
