Everything lights up but it wont spin. I opened it up and noticed that the drive socket screw is missing but despite this, when I put it all back together in, it would spin again. I realize I need to replace the screw so that the socket doesnt come flying off when it is spinning.

Our unit is 10 years old. Do you think it is just old and overheats quickly when in actual use, even in use for less than a minute (the time it took me to open it up and put it back together again was enough time for it to cool down (5 mins))?

Overall we are very happy with it and if it is toast, we will replace it with another Vitamix. We have tried the Kitchenaide commercial series and the Blendtech and, imo, Vitamix is the best.
