A bunch of homer writers that vote their local teams higher. Basically in the AP, you keep winning, you move up. Polls start preseason and influence the whole year. It’s a terrible system.

CB is all over the place on this. AP voters good in football, committee bad. AP voters bad in basketball, committee good. Turns out people really just like the system that ranks BYU higher in any given year.

I guess balancing multiple inputs systems (similar to the BCS) is a good compromise. But people pretending the AP is so much better than the committees is dumb. (Not necessarily saying that happened in the OP)
