I have truly tried to understand the other perspective but it doesn’t add up. Suppressing testosterone isn’t going to even the scales because men’s muscle mass is significantly different from women’s and eliminating testosterone has minimal effect on reducing that mass.
You can take it to the bank that every lifting competition a trans man competes in this olympics will be shattered. I would even say that any competition outside of running and maybe swimming that a trans man competes in will be shattered. Are the olympics really going to allow their records to remain intact?
I’m really trying to understand the logic behind the IOC’s decision but it just doesn’t make sense to me.
Does anyone here have anything to share on it that I’m missing or that you may have heard whether you agree with it or not? Please educate me.
