Watching the slow motion shot from behind the players the clock started well
before Ayton touched the ball. It was already at .6 when he first made contact with it. Not that I care about the Clippers AT ALL but a few tenths were removed.

Clock starts when the ball is first touched in bounds, and stops when the ball has gone through the hoop.

The refs said they timed it from when Ayton touched to when it cleared the net

I think if it’s .3 or less, it has to be a tip type play. No catch and shoot
