I think it interesting that despite the higher inflation, both current and expected, nominal treasury rates bond rates haven't increased and so real returns on bonds have dropped. As far out as 30 years, TIPs have a negative real yield. The risks of hyperinflation are very low under conditions where the government can borrow at such rates. Potentially that could change in the future but so far rates are still low and falling.
