Even if it rains the whole time, it's better than the heat and smoke in the western US. Plus, due to the density and variety of attractions in the Northeast, I'm hoping none of the places we plan to visit are as crowded as, say, national parks in the west (while we're briefly visiting Cape Cod, which I expect will be crowded, we're spending most of our time in Vermont, New Hampshire, and the Adirondacks).
Now, I just need to cross my fingers that none of us catch COVID before we're scheduled to leave next week (with the exception of my 11 year old daughter, we're all vaccinated, but this delta variant seems to be more likely to cause at least some symptoms for vaccinated adults/teens and/or unvaccinated children than previous variants).
