What was the point? Did this move the MCU forward in any way other than the post credit scene (which itself didn't really move anything.)

I enjoy watching these movies with my kids but have lost the desire to try and figure out easter eggs and that stuff. To me, this seemed just like a nice movie within the MCU that had a funny character and didn't really change anything.

Was it just a chance to have a female centric MCU movie and cash in one last time on Scarjo?
