When you work from home, you sure see some “interesting” things going on
My desk is right at the front of the house, with a window right in front of me, so I see what’s going on if I happen to look up. I’ve seen cop cars directly across the street so often that it’s old hat (drug stuff, and the drama even played out on Facebook, but that’s another story).

I’ve seen kids playing ding-dong-ditch at my house, where I had a perfect view of them—so it wasn’t really that sneaky. I mean, I can see you, kid! I knew exactly who they were, and even saw one almost get hit by a car as she fell off her bike in her haste to get away (I posted a longer version of this when it happened).
But yesterday was perhaps even more “interesting”. I actually got out of the house a bit because my wife asked me to water some really dry spots on the lawn that our sprinklers are missing.

I noticed some sprinkler guys working on a neighbor’s house across the ward boundary street and a few doors down. No big deal, and I probably only noticed them because of my own sprinkler issues. Went back inside, and back to work, but moving the hose sprinkler about every 20 minutes. Not paying much attention, I guess, but the guys must have been done for awhile when I "played back the tape" in my head. The truck was still there.

So, I was out there moving the sprinkler to the last spot, behind a tree where I doubt they could see me, but I could see as the guys walked out of the house. Something was weird. It looked like a lot more than just payment for services, if you know what I mean. The neighbor lady was just a little too embarrassingly friendly as she said goodbye.

I’m probably a judgmental jerk for jumping to conclusions, but I don’t know. I hope it wasn’t what I suspect. They’re members of the church (but in the next ward over, like I said), and always seemed like pretty decent people. I'll probably just mind my own business, because it could be totally innocent, and I don't even want to get in the middle of that.
