Hockey guys… I read that the Oilers would have a negative cap hit of $3.5 mill

And the Blackhawks would have cap hit next yr.(not this coming yr but the next) IF Duncan Keith decided to retire after this coming year. I don’t know anything about the cap science in the NHL. Does this seem plausible? and if so maybe there is a back room deal going on between the Oilers and Keith.

I dont know, but the Oilers were super dumb to blow youth on an aging Duncan Keith.
