Doesn't help much in this situation unfortunately. You can remind the provider that this practice is so popular that legislation had to get signed at the federal level to stop the likes of them from engaging in this practice. That might not make them willing to help you out.

There were some good healthcare protections signed into law and done through rulemaking and executive orders in the last administration. It just isn't as fun to talk about as tweets.
