Except BYU was on a 24 game win streak and was the only undefeated team in the

country and had been on a great run with Wilson McMahon Young and Bosco as household names everyone knew.

Utah wasn't in the same place nationally at the time and just didn't have the name recognition and uniqueness compared to other schools at the time.

You can't just take a record and plop it down in another era and say it was comparable.
