Watching my MIL struggle with this has been crazy. She has some real attachment
to things that I just don't understand. She has multiple storage units, sheds, and stuff all in the house. In fact, one of the bedrooms upstairs was packed so full, a few things tipped over and blocked the door. So, they had to go through the window and start clearing out a path to get the door open.
Like I said, I don't understand it. I think the most upset she has ever gotten with me was when she walked in behind me during a conversation I was having with my sister in law and I said I thought it would be easy to handle everything when she died - it would just take one call to 1-800-got junk.
But it was when my wife told her we couldn't visit as often anymore because it got so bad that she finally started cleaning through things. But she had a physical reaction to throwing anything away - even food that expired in the 90s.
