Texas and OU in 2019 were Nos. 1 and 8, respectively, in total revenue in all of
CFB. I use 2019 as that was the last full year before COVID.

The SEC had 10 teams in the top 20. Adding UT and OU will give the SEC 12 teams in the top 20.

The B10 is in a respectable second place with 6 teams in the top 20. The ACC is a distant 3rd with 2.

You’ve got to raise the average revenue if you want in the B10. Kansas is the next highest revenue B12 school, coming in at No. 28. There are 9 B10 schools ranked above Kansas, which means Kansas would rank in the bottom half of the B10 and therefore not be raising the average revenue. Kansas is not a hot bed of recruiting, and they are not a TV rich market. Please feel free to make a data based argument for why the B10 is going to want Kansas. The ACC, maybe, but it’s certainly not a slam dunk even for them.

After Kansas, we’re talking about teams ranked below 40 in total revenue. That doesn’t even move the needle for the lowly PAC.

I’m just not seeing where any other conference is going to “have to” move and snag teams just for the sake of snagging teams. Doesn’t mean they won’t, but I’m not seeing a “have to” argument.
