I was already losing interest. The CFP committee is a joke. They are not actually tasked with finding the best teams, they are tasked with protecting the brand equity of the A5 conferences and the teams in the A5 conferences. It has always been this way, I realize, but at least I could lie to myself (yeah, I know it was a lie) and say that there was some concern about tradition still left somewhere.

There is no real reason for a fan of a "little guy" like me to watch a bunch of bigoted (religiously anyway), exclusionary, elitist schools play for a fake title they made up. My team is no longer part of their program. Heck, no team outside of the ACC/SEC/B1G is. That's fine. But I will no longer contribute any of my spare time or attention toward any of them.

For me the ONLY interesting thing about CFB was watching to see if David could beat Goliath. Well it happened too many times and so now Goliath has taken his ball and gone to play almost exclusively with all of his buddies. He won't be playing David for anything meaningful anymore. If David happens to win in one of the few exhibition games that are allowed, Goliath will give him (if he decides to) a couple of table scraps. But he doesn't even get a shot at anything else.

The very least I can do is stop paying Goliath to watch his stupid show. The college football I grew up watching and loving is officially dead-- has been for a while and I'm embarrassed it took me this long to realize it.
