Here's how conference realignment is going to play out
SEC bylaws say it takes 3/4 vote to add a new member, but only a 2/3 vote to expel a member. A&M, Mizzou, FL and UGA will vote to allow OU into the SEC, but will vote against Texas. This makes Vandy and Ole Miss angry at missing out on an extra $11 per year, so propose exiling aTm from the SEC. The 10 votes to add OU and TX also vote to boot Texas A&M out of the conference. With the SEC sitting at only 13 members, it only takes 10 votes to approve adding TX and OU. They have those votes, and officially add the two former B12 schools.

This brings the conference up to 15 members. 15 members is a scheduling nightmare, so a fight breaks out internally over which school to add to get to 16. BYU is listed as the most likely expansion candidate. TH and President Worthen are invited to several rounds of meetings with the SEC and member schools. All the momentum is in BYU's favor. The day before the vote to add BYU, some random internet blogger somewhere claims that a Church leader somewhere in some capacity at some time did something that isn't politically correct in today's environment. Public opinion immediately turns against BYU, and the SEC reverses course and decides to expel Vandy from the conference. Vandy goes independent. aTm joins the B1G along with the University of Toledo.
