If the situation begins to deteriorate further for the BIG12, there is not telling what the remaining members will do. Unless they stick together and add a few teams quickly, they are going to start jumping ship like rats. When that happens, BYU’s relative program stability and depth of programs in the athletic department will shine through.

If we play this right, we could improve our position by either staying independent OR joining a conference that really needs us. We could be in a position to act, and not be acted upon.

Tom proved he can be a wartime consigliere last year with his scheduling miracle. It’s going to be interesting to see how we play this.
