I’m talking about the events I care about once every four year… well, five years in this case.
I’m ready for the drama of underdogs I’ve never heard of toppling the sport Goliath, who I’ve also never heard of but have become familiar with over the course of a 30 minute broadcast.
I’m ready to be reminded of several countries, that I’ll probably forget about in a week or two, and think it’s cool to see their athletes do well.
I’m ready to go from an event noob to an expert educating my kids about the nuance of a sport because the ex-Olympian doing commentary has just taught me everything I need to know.
I’m ready for my patriotism to be bolstered by the medal count trackers as I see USA cleaning up the medals.
I’m just ready. I love the Olympics and look forward to them. It doesn’t make sense. All the above are kind of in jest but really I am looking forward to all of those things. We’ve set up our big screen and projector so we can watch live streams and replays all day, every day.
Let’s get these lesser known sports started! First up… appears to be some rowing.
